New ratings for 4 child car seats
CREP has published new ratings for four child car seats. Two booster seats, for children from four years old up to eight years old, scored more than four stars.
CREP is a partnership between Transport for NSW, the NRMA, Royal Automobile Club of Victoria, Transport Accident Commission, VicRoads and Kidsafe Australia.
The methods for assessing child car seats were revised at the start of 2018. This means child car seats rated from 2018 should not be compared to those rated when previous assessment methods were used.
CREP has also recently improved its star rating system, making it easier for parents to understand by adding numerical scores beside the stars.
Ratings for the four child car seats have been added to the website.
